AMAVUBI head coach Sellas Tetteh has dismissed reports linking him with the Black Stars’ job. Ghana’s Football Association (GFA) on Tuesday confirmed that Milovan Rajevac had quit as coach of Ghana. The Serbian coach formally handed in his resignation, ending a two-year stint where he took Ghana to the final of the 2010 African Cup of Nations and the last eight of the World Cup in South Africa.

GFA spokesman Randy Abbey said: "Rajevac has informed the Ghana Football Association that he wants to move on with new challenges.”

In the aftermath of Rajevac’s resignation, reports emerged that the void would tempt Tetteh, who is a popular figure in Ghana after steering the U-20 side to the 2009 U-20 Fifa World Cup in Egypt.

However, the Ghanaian tactician has been quick to laugh-off those reports insisting that he is fully committed to Amavubi and wants to see the team qualify for the 2012 Africa Nations Cup that will be jointly hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

"I believe I have shown my commitment to Amavubi,” Tetteh told Times Sport. "I don’t think anyone can doubt my commitment here. You can question my decisions and I accept that, but not my commitment.”

Rwanda is in a difficult position following a disappointing 3-0 defeat in their opening qualifier against Ivory Coast.
Amavubi host Benin’s Squirrels in their next qualifier and Tetteh is fully focused on how best to beat the West Africans who settled for a point in their opening qualifier against Burundi which ended in a 1-all draw.

Tetteh was Ratomir Dujkovic’s right-hand man as Ghana qualified for the 2006 World Cup. He also assisted Frenchman Claude LeRoy during the 2008 Nations Cup before taking charge of the Black Stars in the opening four games of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers when Ghana won three games and lost one.

The Ghana Football Association is set to decide on the future of the Ghana coaching job ahead of the team’s next qualifier against Sudan on October 10. Rajevac is now likely to take over as Saudi club Al Ahly Jeddah.
