AFTER weeks of uncertainty, Rayon Sport Coach Emmanuel Ruremesha is expected to sign a new one-year deal this week, Times Sport has learnt.
The 37-year-old joined the Blues from rivals Atraco towards the end of last season on a three month contract, which expired in July.
But after what was seen as a respectable showing in the 2009/10 MTN Peace Cup where he guided the club to the finals before eventually losing out to APR 1-0, blues’ Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya told this reporter that Ruremesha deserves a contract extension.
"I think he did a fantastic job last season especially after joining towards the end of the season when things were not going our way.”
"We are renewing his contract on those grounds and he should sign not later than Thursday,” Gakwaya confirmed.
While he is yet to sign, the news that he will carry on as Rayon coach has left Ruremesha excited.
"Of course I want to remain as coach of this club. It is a job that I cannot turn down and my priority next season is simple-to guide the club to a trophy.”
The Blues have not won any silverware since 2005, something that the fans are desperate to see change.
