Ban Ki Moon’s visit to Rwanda was a wise decision

Editor,
Listening to the BBC yesterday morning, I heard the reporter interview Filip Reyntjens and ask his opinion on Ban Ki Moon’s visit to Rwanda to discuss the UN report that accuses Rwanda of human Rights violations in the DR Congo.
This so-called ‘expert’ believed that the UN had lost face because it wanted to hear what the Rwandan government had to say about the draft report. I beg to differ.
Usually, one gets both sides of the story before one publishes something as incendiary as that report. It would have been tragic if the UN published the report without Rwanda’s input.
