Basketball: APR turn focus to semi-finals

After finishing in third-place in the second round of the Rwanda basketball league, APR have turned attention to preparing for the semi-finals of the playoffs.

Four teams that finished in the top four positions of the league will rub shoulders in the playoffs to establish the champion of this season.

The teams - Rwanda Energy Group, Patriots, Tigers, and APR will play a best of three semi-final series, after which two of them will proceed to a best of five finals.

In an interview, Cliff Owuor, the head coach of APR basketball said the team will embark on thorough preparations for the semis, noting that they expect stiff competition from the rivals.

"We will be preparing well for the semi-finals. Here every team has the ability to win this year’s title. We will do our best until the last game of the tournament.”

According to the fixtures, Patriots will play against Tigers, while REG will take on APR in the best of three semi-finals that will take place between the 26th to the 31st of this month at Kepler University court and Aiper-Nyandungu court.

The finals will take place between the 7th to 16th of next month at the BK Arena.
