"Those three clubs (Rwamagana, Kirehe, and Kicuriko) have already been cleared to take part in the league but we still expect more entrants. We shall make a decision on the final number soon,” the official added.
Eighteen clubs competed in last year’s edition were Muhanga and La Jeunesse earned promotion to the Primus league.
No club was however relegated to the second division following Atraco and Electrogaz’s withdraw from the top flight. Muhanga were crowned second division champions after defeating La Jeunesse on penalties (4-3).
