A lot has been said and written about the appalling condition of Kabeza road in Kicukiro district. Whatever has been written about is what the residents of this place feel is hazardous to their lives.

Yes, this boulevard is smooth and it’s not pot-holed, but this can’t help when the very road is too dusty to cause diseases to many silent Rwandans.

Every morning and evening, the road is characterised by queues of village women carrying their raw products (fruits) to markets in Kimironko and Remera markets. This is just one group of people among many others that use this road.
If city authorities were to listen to the pleas from the schools, shops, welding workshops, and churches that operate along this road, they would stop and give convincing reasons to the people.

The reasons as to why the road has not been completed may be there, and this is what the Kabeza people want to hear.

Just like the saying that; ‘Rome city was not built in a day’ the people would courageous wait despite the dust that they inhale everyday.

When city authorities sit back and keep quite until time for completing this road comes, this will have long-term effects on whoever is responsible for this task.

God has listened to the cries of the residents and he has provided rain to reduce the dust. This however will not take long before the dust hits again.

A lasting solution is needed and the city engineer responsible should come out and explain.
