CECAFA Secretary General Nicholas Musonye was more than glad to attend President Paul Kagame’s inauguration yesterday.
The football official said that following Kagame’s unmatched support in developing football in the region, it is not surprising that the Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (Cecafa) has candidly backed him.
Kagame has supported the club championship (Kagame Cup) for the last six years and given a hand in the body’s other programs. The tourney has grown in statute because of his unswerving annual financial support ($60,000).
This year, the Rwandan government injected Rwf550m into the competition making it the biggest ever in the history of the competition.
