KIGALI - Rwanda is set to host the first East African Education Exhibition and conference that is expected to take place in Kigali from October 1 to 4.
The event, that is organised under the theme ‘quality education for intercultural understanding and regional development’ will bring together various education institutions from the five EAC member states.
According to the Minister of Education, Dr. Charles Murigande, the aim of the event is to exhibit educational works and products from these countries.
He further said that the expo will strengthen cooperation and improve partnership within the member states.
According to the organizers of the expo, every member state will have unique and fresh contributions to showcase during the exhibition.
It will also be an opportunity for many students, parents, guardians and the public at large to know and try out different courses that are offered at the various institutions in the partner states.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education on Friday evening organised a fundraising dinner at Serena Kigali hotel where corporate companies and friends of education were invited to raise funds for organising the event.
At the dinner, over Rwf 21 million was raised and organizers say that the whole budget is estimated at Rwf 180 million.
Participants to the exhibition will include; primary schools, secondary schools, higher Colleges (Including TVET Institutions), higher learning institutions and private companies that offer services related to education.
Several topics covering various issues on the past, current and future status of education systems in all partner states in the region will be deeply analysed.
