The Rwf 12 million bounty that Tigo Rwanda mobile subscribers were meant to vie for since the launch of the ‘Sponsor of Your Passion’ campaign three months ago is still up for grabs according to a top official.
According to Nina Ndabaneze, Marketing Manager, the prize winner was announced during a live draw in July at Tigo Tower, Muhima and the winner whose number corresponded to the Tigo 3.5G modem fail to claim the prize after numerous announcements were made.
”We are going to do another raffle to be broadcast live on Contact FM on 7th September as well as the prize giving ceremony on Friday. The fact that we failed to find the first winner probably spices up the campaign. It is exciting because other Tigo subscribers will still have a chance to win the grand prize,” Ndabaneze said.
"To win the prize subscribers had to load airtime and accumulate points. Some subscribers have already benefited from the ‘Sponsor of Your Passion’ campaign, however the Rwf 12 million grand prize is yet to be won,” she added.
Tigo recently moved the company’s head offices from Nyarutarama to newer, more corporate and spacious office premises in Muhima in the city centre in order to serve clients better.
The Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Agency (RURA) recently announced that Tigo had surpassed Rwandatel as the second most subscribed mobile telecom company after attaining slightly more than 500,000 subscribers in just seven months of operation.
Aleman Marcelo the Chief Executive Officer of Tigo recently attributed the achievement to the deployment of a robust GSM network, a very solid 3G network and an electronic airtime distribution system which made the Rwandan operation one of the most advanced in terms of mobile technology.
