I read in the New Times of September 1, that the budget allocated to Universities had been slashed by the Government. One thing for sure, very few Universities in this world are fully funded by their governments. Being a high institute of learning, there are many ways of generating funds to cater for the university’s costs.

These can range from hiring out their premises to conducting research. The budget reduction should be no cause for alarm. What the Universities can do, is to send their staff for tours at other universities around the world to learn how they generate funds and borrow whatever ideas may be applicable.
