Tigo Rwanda has moved the company’s head offices from Nyarutarama, to new, more corporate and spacious office premises in Muhima in the city centre, according to a company official.

Nina Ndabaneza the Marketing Manager of the second largest mobile company by market share, told Business Times that since Tigo is fast growing. They moved to Tigo Tower where services can also be easily be accessed.

"The Tigo family now has over 500,000 subscribers and we are still growing. As our subscriber base grows we also grow. However to be able to serve our clients better and even much faster, we have moved to our new spacious and corporate offices in the city,” Ndabaneza said.

"This will not in any way affect our operations and the services we render to our clients. However out technical department will remain in our existing offices in Nyarutarama,” she added.

The Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Agency (RURA) recently announced that Tigo had surpassed Rwandatel as the second most subscribed mobile telecom company after attaining slightly more than 500,000 subscribers in just seven months of operation

Aleman Marcelo the Chief Executive Officer of Tigo said that as a way of attaining these numbers Tigo had deployed a robust GSM network, a very solid 3G network and an electronic distribution system of airtime which made the Rwandan operation one of the more advanced in terms of mobile technology.

"We are making significant investments not only in infrastructure but also in developing local talent and we are very pleased with what we have achieved so far. We still have a lot to do and we will keep on investing and growing coverage and capacity to provide access to affordable communication to people from all parts of Rwanda,” he said.
