Nigerian winger Jibrine Abubakar Akuki is on the verge of signing for AS Kigali with league leaders hoping to improve their offensive department ahead of the second round of Rwanda Premier League.

The player confirmed to Times Sport that an agreement has been reached between his club Mukura and the City of Kigali-sponsored club and that he could put pen to paper ‘any time’.

"It is true that I am close to signing for AS Kigali. Talks have been completed so either today or tomorrow (Friday), I will sign." Jibrine told Times Sport on Thursday.

Jibrine scored three goals and provided four assists for Mukura in the first round of the 2022/23 season.

He is expected to fill the void on the flanks following the departure of skipper Haruna Niyonzima to Al Ta'awon in Libya.
