Unfortunately, our society has influenced teen’s perception of beauty as an outward appearance. The mantra is, ‘Beauty is your height, size, shape or colour.’  The damage these words have done is unimaginable as teens forever strive to look right in other people’s eyes.

Since the world has placed celebrities on a pedestal, teens are forced to do whatever it takes to live up to that standard. Chicks want to look like the hot cover girl or cover boy on Cosmo and GQ magazines!; teens are forever under pressure to look styled up be the hottest ‘thang’ on the block!

Too bad, this kind of insecurity hurts our self image and confidence. But, it’s time to get over our insecurities! We must be confident in the truth that we are beautiful people inside and out. All people are unique and no one in this world can exactly be like you. This in itself is a wonderful reality.

Never apologise and be ashamed of being you. If you are struggling with your image then know that you are not alone, many others are struggling too. What makes you different is your ability to conquer your fears! All you need to change is the way you view yourself.

If you don’t think so...too bad; if you agree, nod your head and brush your shoulder twice! Holla and share your experience with the TEEN TIMES and see how you can change another teens life!!  Get up and get your jig on!
