Rwandan artist Angelo Jawanzaa and producer Dr. Nganji of Green Ferry Music have dropped a collaborative EP dubbed ‘Times in Life.’
Dropped on Wednesday, January 18, through Green Ferry Music, the seven-track project was produced by Nganji himself alongside JoMá,
According to Nganji, recording sessions of the whole project were held for months and the tracks on the EP were intended to be singles serving as forthcoming next projects, and due to the unexpected level of quality of the records, it turned out to be a collaboration seven track EP.
‘’Apart from knowing Angelo for years and having collaborated before in 2021 on "Uziko Wanyibagiwe” and a couple of other singles, if you listen to his music carefully, you’ll unearth that he is a Hip-hop head even though he is a reserved singer,” Nganji said, explaining why he decided to collaborate with Jawanzaa .
"The way he writes his lyrics and expresses himself is the same as rappers, I do think is one of the reasons we connected so well in the studio as I have been producing the same characters for years. When we got together, of course it was going to flow,’’ he added.
According to Jawanza, The EP is authentic, enjoyable, and collaborative, and was produced with intentions of creating something that is different from everything else currently happening in mainstream’s upper echelons.
"I wanted to write about things I go through; the same as Dr. Nganji to produce the music we do enjoy, that confidence we had was the thing that binds EP together. I was able to write and sing about everything from Deception, Mental Health, Sex, Narcissism, Love, Self-doubt and Beliefs,’’ Jawanzaa said.
Musically the EP is diverse in a fusion of alternative to contemporary R&B, Trap Soul and Drill Beats, where both singer and producer get to showcase their talents.
Some of the tracks on the project include Satan produced in house music, Fake Love, Miss Perfect, among others. You can stream ‘T.I.L (Times In Life)’ EP via all music digital service providers worldwide.
