If it’s one thing that Aimé Uwimana understands, it is gospel music. Slow, Zouk, Salsa and Gospel music have always gone together, but that wasn’t quite enough for Uwimana who added classical to broaden the range of the traditional gospel audience.

Born in 1977, Burundi, to Emmanuel Niyimbeshaho and Joséphine Nyirabizimana, the gospel music star is one of the country’s most recognized and respected Gospel artists.

The 33-year-old started singing Gospel music after accepting Christ in 1994 in Burundi. At that time, Uwimana was singing in his local Church, "Eglise Vivante”, with the famous Burundian praise and worship leader, Apollinaire Habonimana.

After the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, Uwimana decided to return. In Rwanda, he continued building his music career as he partnered with other local artists and teamed up again with his role model, Habonimana.

After the release of his debut  single ‘The Lord Comes’, Uwimana went on to release four albums ‘Christ Lives’, ‘Jesus is alive’, ‘I am a child at home’ and ‘My refuge’.
In his compositions, Uwimana tends to write worship and praise songs, as well as songs about his life. He says, "Most of the songs I compose are based on my life, what God has done for me and where He got me from”.

Uwimana recently released a DVD of nine singles, including ‘Remembrance’, ‘Scars of love’, ‘A love letter’, ‘I have entered the Holies of Holies’, ‘Remind me’, ‘Field of Peace’, ‘Receive Praise’ and ‘Fiesta.’

His latest album ‘Yesu Arantunzi’ produced in his studio Kabod Studio is already on market. Uwimana is a music teacher. He teaches piano and guitar. He also plays piano at Serena Hotel, Kigali, which he has been doing since 2004 when it was still Intercontinental Hotel.

Like any Godly man, Uwimana loves and respects God, he prays for people and of course socializes.

His is a member of Moriah Entertainment Group, a Gospel entertainment company which supports and promotes Gospel artists.
