THE All African Bishops International Conference begun in Entebbe, Uganda with the clerics promising to strengthen their positions on intolerance of homosexuality in the Anglican Church. Personally, I think that these bishops have other things they should prioritize.

This is a continent that is full of injustice, human tragedy, hunger and war. In the DR Congo, women are being raped by FDLR militia while in Darfur peacekeepers are being killed.

With all that happening, I can’t understand why the good bishops are making homosexuality such a big deal. Sure it is a sin, according to the Bible, but it isn’t greater than any other.

A conference, as big as this one in Uganda, should tackle the real problems that the Church is facing and not issues that don’t really affect us.
