Well, we probably all what to know about the benefits of hair extensions—how they make us look beautiful and elegant. But that is not what this article is about.

We would like to talk about some of the horrible effects of hair extensions or weaves, the causes and how to avoid them. Hair loss, for example, is one of the problems most women have had to deal with after wearing extensions.

There are literally numerous effects of hair extensions apart from flattering the wearer. Unfortunately, like drugs, very many women are obsessed and, continue to embrace the trend, despite its dangers.

The side-effects of hair extensions are real and you need to know what they are.
Meanwhile, each hair extension company claims that their type does not cause damage, claiming that if applied regularly, the condition of your natural hair will be improved.

Assuming that those companies are genuine and, their claims are true, this makes us think the dangers are being caused by stylists, who do not mind about their client’s hair, but only money.

According to Claudine Umuhoza, a hair stylist, extensions are used to add volume and thickness to thinning hair.
She, however, admits, "Depending on the method and stylist, extensions can sometimes lead to further hair loss.”

Umuhoza added that there are two main types of hair extensions—real human hair and artificial hair. Actual human hair is the best, but expensive.

Benefits and side effects

Hair extensions can offer many wonderful benefits, including giving hair a more gorgeous, healthy look. However, sometimes the extension can lead to a great thinning and hair loss. It can also cause an embarrassment by falling off if not weaved properly.

When the weaving is done too tightly, it can pull on the natural hair and lead to premature flaking. The process can also damage hair, causing breakage at the point of attachment. To help reduce the risks, the hair extension should be carried out by experts and, proper care should be taken when putting in the extension.

For some women, especially those who have lost a lot of hair, think extension is the only alternative to hide the condition and, be confident.

However, since the process can be damaging to existing hair, habitual users need to think about the risks, because sometimes the extensions may not be worth the risk of increased hair loss. But, if you are experiencing severe hair loss, wearing an extension or a wig is the only way to go.
