HUYE - Residents of Kigoma Sector, Huye District, were Wednesday shocked to find the body of a fellow resident dumped in the bush with deep cuts.
The body of Emmanuel Habaguhirwa, 26, was found in the bush- about 80 meters from Karambi trading centre- where he used to work in a hair saloon.
It is suspected that he could have been killed on Tuesday night as he was going home.
One suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder as investigations continue, according to security officials.
Residents said the deceased had been seen at a nearby drinking joint on Tuesday evening, the last day he was seen alive.
His body bore wounds on the head, face and cheek, according to Apollinaire Rwego, who first saw the body and alerted authorities.
Residents of Karambi trading centre suspected his neighbour, Felicien Munyandekwe, 51, with whom they allegedly had conflicts of being behind the killing, but Munyandekwe denies the allegations.
Festus Habyarimana, a local official in Kigoma, said that the incident is the first of its kind in the area, adding that he hoped police’s investigation would bring to book all those responsible for the murder.
