Punish fuel smugglers

I was pissed off when I read the 9th January The New Times issue that talked about some Rwandans who were caught trading fuel illegally. This is so shaming; however, the situation has been handled reasonably so far.

Any disruption by these people would put our economy in an uncontrollable situation like that of the Kenyans. According to reports, the Kenyan economy has retarded by $1 billion.

I imagine that if government had not set up measures to curb this crisis and control such people who want to create an economic crisis, Rwandans would also be facing it rough by now.

I think we should try and tip the police when we see these illegal petrol and diesel traders. It’s only working hand in hand with the police authorities that will save our economy in these hard times.
