RWANDAN schools will be hoping to build on their impressive performance of last year by bringing home more silverware in the East African Post Primary Games which start tomorrow (Friday) in Nakuru, Kenya.

Rwanda won the football (girls) and Volleyball (boys) categories last year and Emile Ruberwa, the Public Relations Officer in the Ministry of Education, who travelled with the 13 teams to Kenya yesterday, told Times Sport that they intend to bring home more trophies.

"The players were doing intensive training for about a month, so we expect to win more trophies this year.

"I am confident we will dominate certain disciplines like football (girls), volleyball (girls), and handball both (boys and girls),” said Ruberwa.

The nine-day event will attract schools from Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda.

Rwanda will be represented in the football category by: Remera Rukoma, APAPEB Gicumbi (football, girls) and Baptiste Seminary, Gisenyi High School (football, boys).

St. Joseph Kabgayi, Butare Secondary School (volleyball-boys) and Indangaburenzi Secondary School (volleyball, girls), APAPEKI Cyuru High School (handball, girls), St Joseph Nyamasheke (handball, boys) as well as Karubanda High School (basketball, girls)   APE Rugunga (basketball, boys).
