Kamikazi attended her primary education at St. Joseph Kicukiro, O¡¯Level at FAWE Girls School and A¡¯ Level at Group Scolaire Karubanda.

Born October 20, 1991 in Kampala, Uganda, she is the first child of the late Christopher Rutagengwa and Oriane Barahira. Kamikazi attended her primary education at St. Joseph Kicukiro, O¡¯Level at FAWE Girls School and A¡¯ Level at Group Scolaire Karubanda.
Currently she is enjoying a productive vacation working at a cosmetics shop besides being a professional model. She is set to pursue her University education next year at the School of Finance and Banking (SFB).
¡°I started modeling at a tender age of 12 although at that time I was not modeling for any agency. I signed my first contract with Premier Modeling Agency in Rwanda, this year in January¡± Kamakazi said.
The upcoming professional model disclosed that her contract is to run for a year but when it elapses a better deal would not be a bad idea.
Kamikazi said: ¡°In Rwanda modeling is not yet well developed compared to other countries but the agency does some shows for instance, this year we¡¯ve had three fashion shows especially the current one ¡®United we Stand¡¯ fashion show at Amahoro petit stadium that was held last Friday, 6th August, 2010.¡±
¡°We deal with well known designers of the land like Zamuda and Patrice. Some companies in Rwanda contact the agency incase they need models for billboards, adverts or photo shoots.¡±
¡°At times fashion boutiques call me up and dress me up with clothes for occasions hence promoting their clothing lines. However, for photo shoots and adverts the deal is between the model and the company just like the advert I did with Star Africa Media.¡±
In case of a fashion show, Kamikazi said she starts her day by visiting the salon¡ªshe loves her hair more than anything else. Also drinking lots of fluids and eating a proper meal keeps her energized for the day. Lastly, she meet up with various designers to check if their clothes fit and match two hours before a fashion show kicks off.
¡°Since the catwalk is already in my system, all I need to practice are the poses I will strike for the different clothes I wear. If model displays traditional wear, they have to smile while if they have casual outfits, posing with attitude counts,¡± Kamikazi points out.
Regarding the misconception towards the modeling business, Kamikazi has a lot to say.
¡°People say the modeling profession is doing away with the Rwandan Culture but that is being irrational. I once attended a fashion show with my mum when I was still young and I told her that I would one day become a model.
She told me that as long as I pursued my studies there was no problem and I¡¯m still aiming at my goal today.¡±
Ethics and professionalism are important for this beautiful young model. She says ¡°models must be exemplary since quite a number of youth and children want to imitate them.¡±
She calls for those who want to join the profession to be brave and not be scared of what people will say.
¡°It¡¯s about showing what you have and what you are good at. However, models should not pose nude at whatever cost. Parents should also understand that like all professions there are always people with improper reputations, they should not discourage their children from modeling.¡±
Her tips on courage while on the runway:
¡°Believing that the audience is there to see you, believing that you can do it, focusing on the audience and above all striking a pose before walking on the runway,¡± are Kamikazi¡¯s guarantees to yielding confidence.
¡°The first time I walked one a runway, I felt like I had achieved my dream and I thanked God for it,¡± Kamikazi cheerfully explains.
Being a model is God-given for Kamikazi; she disclosed that she is not on any diet and her figure comes naturally.
