Other African states should follow Uganda’s lead

Editor,

I want to take this opportunity to commend the Ugandan authorities for the arrest and quick extradition of one of the most wanted Genocide fugitives, Augustin Nkundabazungu.

This kind of cooperation is truly warranted. It is my belief that many of these hardcore criminals are hiding in African nations. In the spirit of African unity, I think that it is time that our nations weren’t used as safe havens for criminals.

For example, I find it unfortunate that South Africa, a good friend of the Rwandan people, is protecting the two dissidents Kayumba and Karegeya; especially if they aren’t prosecuting them instead.
