FIVE local volleyball clubs have confirmed their participation in this year’s KAVC memorial volleyball tournament which will be staged this weekend in Kampala, Uganda. The Rwanda volleyball federation Technical Director, Christian Hatungimana said that the country will be represented by Rwanda Revenue Authority, Kigali Volleyball Club, APR volleyball club, Ruhango and Groupe Officiel de Butare.

The Rwanda volleyball federation Technical Director, Christian Hatungimana said that the country will be represented by Rwanda Revenue Authority, Kigali Volleyball Club, APR volleyball club, Ruhango and Groupe Officiel de Butare.
Hatungimana added that both Groupe Scholaire de Butare and Ruhango will use the two-day tournament to prepare for the upcoming East African Post Primary Schools Games.
Other foreign clubs that have confirmed their participation in the two-day tournament include Muzinga and Rukinzo from Burundi, Kenya Administration Police, Prisons, Corporative Bank and Nairobi City Council.
Meanwhile, all Ugandan volleyball clubs except Nemostars, who broke away from KAVC, have confirmed their participation in the event.
KAVC will have teams in the two men’s, two women’s, and one in the veterans’ events.
KCC who are holders of the women’s title have also entered the men’s event while Nkumba University will be represented in either event.
Sport-S will be defending the men’s crown and KCC the women’s title. The tournament presents another opportunity for teams to battle for honours.
