Rwanda rugby federation gets new president

YESTERDAY during the Rwanda rugby federation Annual General Meeting unanimously voted Dr. Otto Vianney Muhinda as its new president. He replaces long serving Alexis Kamanzi. Muhinda said he would focus on three major areas, acquiring sponsorship, a rugby ground and promoting the sport in schools.

YESTERDAY during the Rwanda rugby federation Annual General Meeting unanimously voted Dr. Otto Vianney Muhinda as its new president. He replaces long serving Alexis Kamanzi.

Muhinda said he would focus on three major areas, acquiring sponsorship, a rugby ground and promoting the sport in schools.

"I won’t promise heaven on earth but will build on what has already been established,” Muhinda said.

He called upon all clubs to support his committee in order for the sport to reach greater heights.

Dr.Muhinda is a keen rugby fan and a trained referee.
Alex Araire and Janvier Ugeziwe retained their posts, vice president (In charge of Marketing) and Secretary General, respectively. Gerald Nsenga is the new National Technical Director, he moves from vice president (technical).

Others are Henry Umwera as vice president (techical), Geoffrey Kayonga as Treasurer and Jean Baptist Itanzi as assistant technical director.

Outgoing president, Kamanzi, pledged to continue working closely with the new committee.
