Top flight side Gorilla FC have announced that they have signed striker Onesme Twizerimana on a six-month deal as the club looks to reinforce the attacking department ahead of the return leg of Rwanda Premier League.
Twizerimana was Police FC’s top scorer in the first round of the league with five goals before he was sacked on January 7 due to gross misconduct.
Gorilla confirmed the player’s transfer Friday, January 13, right after signing a six-month deal that will see him play for the club for the remainder of the season.
Club President Hadji Mudaheranwa hailed Twizerimana as "a big name player and he has a lot of qualities, so we expect a lot from him in this second part of the season that’s why we signed him.”
Asked whether the club will be able to cope with the player’s misconduct that saw him forced out of Police, Mudaheranwa said that they don’t have any doubt about the striker’s professionalism.
"He is a professional,” he said, adding, " In football there are many things that can happen and the parties agree to part ways...but we have no doubt about his discipline.”
Twizerimana was regarded as a great talent that had potential to flourish at both club and national team level.
He has played for most of the top clubs in Rwanda including Mukura VS, AS Kigali, APR and Police FC.
