GATSIBO - Paul Kagame, the RPF candidate, yesterday, said that anyone who has intentions of destabilising the peace the country is enjoying, will be confronted with the strongest force. He added that Rwanda is not about to give in to criminals and genocidaires who still think they can run this country.

Addressing over 120,000 RPF supporters in Gatsibo - part of his campaign trail in the Eastern Province - Kagame said that Rwanda will not bow to genocidaires and criminals who flee the country after committing crimes, and turn around to claim that there is no democracy in Rwanda.

Kagame said that it is up to every country to pursue democracy that suits it, adding that it is unfortunate that some people want to define democracy for others.

He went on to castigate foreigners who prefer to criticise the country’s democratic principles and choose to impose individuals with ethnic divisionism and have criminal records, under the pretext of democracy.

Kagame said that the self appointed judges of Rwanda’s democracy should come and witness the massive support RPF has, prior to publishing negatives stories.

The candidate went on to castigate criminals who run out of the country, purportedly for lack of democracy and when they encounter danger or difficulty, wherever they are, they seek to blame it on the RPF.

The candidate noted that the government is preoccupied with more important matters rather than chasing around criminals living in other countries.

He warned that when such criminals want to turn their frustrations into threats against the country’s security, they will be dealt with accordingly. Kagame noted that Rwanda is not a country that can be ruled by just about anyone, including criminals.

He pointed out that foreigners who want to impose individuals without any values should take them to their countries and appoint them president, but not Rwanda, because this is a country with dignity and respect.

kagame called on the residents to maintain the pace of development and patriotism, adding that Rwandans know what they want and no one should interfere in the affairs of the country.

The candidate noted that leadership in Rwanda is not something to trample on and that leadership in the new Rwanda is no longer for individuals who lack integrity, because that time passed.

The new Rwanda is for a new breed of Rwandans who strive for development not politics of hate, he added.
Kagame, once again, told the residents that the massive support they have shown to RPF will translate into deeds of development such as; good roads, good schools, hospitals, environment conservation, tourism development and many other positive aspects that the RPF advocates for.

Shadia Mutagoma, who owns an events company, gave a testimony of how she managed to succeed in life. She told the crowd how her life has changed from that of a poor woman to a serious entrepreneur with a business worth about Rwf6m.  Mutagoma said she now earns about Rwf 150,000 a day from her decorating business.

Kagame continues the campaign trail today, with rallies in Kayonza, Rwamagana and Nyamirambo.
