GAKENKE - A 30-year old woman who was transferred from a local health centre in Rwankuba, on Wednesday morning gave birth to triplets, 30 minutes after reaching Ruli Hospital in Gakenke district.

Sylvie  Nyiramajyambere, gave birth to three baby boys by caesarean section, after medical doctors discovered she would not have a normal delivery.

They are all said to be in a good health.
"She was brought by an ambulance, and after tests we opted for a caesarean. All the babies are fine; two weigh two kg while the third weighs 2.2 kgs. They are receiving normal medical care,’’ Dr Daniel Kikuni, who conducted the operation, said.  

"This is a miracle, I never expected to deliver three children at the same time, but its all God’s plan, I’m grateful because now, I feel I have recovered and my babies are all alive,’’ Nyiramajambere said, hours after the delivery.

She added that she was worried about the children’s support since her returns from subsistence farming are not enough.   

"I don’t know how I will support the children, but God will see us through,’’ she said.

Nyiramajambere and her husband Siphiriya Habumuremyi, are small scale farmers from Nganzo cell, Mugunga sector.
