Rwanda vs Congo
THE 2009 U-20 Fifa World winning coach Sellas Tetteh is optimistic his Junior Wasps can surprise Congo Brazzaville and reach the next qualifying round of next year’s Africa Youth Championship which will be played in Libya.
Rwanda lost 2-0 in their first-leg a fortnight ago and has a mountain to climb if they want to qualify for the second and final qualifying round.
Anything less than a 3-0 win (or 2-0 to force the tie into penalties) for the hosts at the Kigali Regional stadium, Nyamirambo on Sunday will mean the end of Rwanda’s hopes of appearing at the second consecutive Africa U-20 Youth Championship finals.
However, Tetteh believes that with the determination and improvement he has seen from his players in training in the last two weeks, the Congolese should be wary of the Junior Wasps.
"I am optimistic this team will deliver a positive result against the Congolese. We have had good preparations and with the held of God, we shall not only win the game (on Sunday) but also qualify,” the Ghanaian told this paper yesterday.
The Congolese arrive in the country this morning (Friday 3.00am) and will be stay at Alpha Palace hotel.
