THE RPF candidate, Paul Kagame, yesterday, called upon Rwandans to shun the politics of division.

Kagame, made the remarks during a campaign rally in Kicukiro District, adding that the country will not tolerate politicians seeking to play the ethnic card for selfish purposes.

The candidate went on to issue a stern warning to anyone who would attempt to jeopardise the peace and security of the Rwandan people, saying that they will be dealt with seriously.

Addressing the rally that attracted more than 70,000 residents, Kagame made it clear that Rwanda’s political line is not based on ethnicity.

The candidate called upon the Rwandan people to resist whoever links Rwanda’s politics to ethnicity.
He went on to describe Rwandan detractors as idlers, reminding them that they, and their western backers, should know that western politics are not based on ethnicity, and the same applies to Rwanda.

He went on to say that whoever comes to Rwanda looking for peace and development, will find it. But those who bring insecurity would regret.

Kagame reminded the supporters that the politics championed by the RPF centre around building a reputable nation with hope for a brighter future.

The candidate added that his party will continue to be more practical, and will never disappoint Rwandans.
At the rally, Daniel Ngarambe, shared his experience of how his life has transformed under the RPF leadership.

"I used to dig pit latrines for survival. With the help of the RPF, I bought a bicycle and used it as a taxi; I continued developing financially, and now I own two motorcycles, I have my own house and a car, I am soon starting poultry farming,” Ngarambe said.
