Editor, My car recently broke down while on my way to the Eastern Province. While a car breaking down is nothing special, after all they are just machines, I find it suspicious that the same spare part, that I’d bought less than three weeks previously (at a ridiculously high price), is the same one that caused my journey to be cut short.
Editor,
My car recently broke down while on my way to the Eastern Province. While a car breaking down is nothing special, after all they are just machines, I find it suspicious that the same spare part, that I’d bought less than three weeks previously (at a ridiculously high price), is the same one that caused my journey to be cut short.
Is it possible that the spare part that I bought wasn’t a genuine part? If this is so, who is responsible for ensuring that imported products are up to scratch?
Is it the Rwandan Bureau of Standards? Or maybe some other body? I think that there is a racket in place among the spare parts dealers. I think that someone has to do something to ensure that we, customers aren’t taken for a ride.
