Rwandan filmmaker, Edouard Bamporiki will launch his new film ‘Ukuri kurihe?’ meaning (Where is the truth?) and a book called ‘Icyaha kuri bo, Ikimwaro kuri njye,’ meaning (A sin to them and shame on me), today, August 4th, at Kigali Serena Hotel.
Rwandan filmmaker, Edouard Bamporiki will launch his new film ‘Ukuri kurihe?’ meaning (Where is the truth?) and a book called ‘Icyaha kuri bo, Ikimwaro kuri njye,’ meaning (A sin to them and shame on me), today, August 4th, at Kigali Serena Hotel.
Bamporiki is an international recognised filmmaker, who was last year voted in the second category during the Amani Great Lakes Film Festival that brings together young filmmakers from the regional to share their experience in film making.
The star came to limelight in October, 2009, when his documentary, ‘Long Coat’ won acclamation as an African film during the renowned Festivale de Cannes.
The documentary has taken Bamporiki to places including Hollywood.
He is also among the five filmmakers selected for this year’s Focus Features (formerly USA Films, Universal Focus and Good Machine), scheduled for September, 2010, in USA.
Bamporiki is a leading actor in Urunana, a popular local educative soap opera.
