THE Executive Secretary of the economic community of great lakes countries (CEPGEL),  Ambassador Gabriel Toyi, has commended the atmosphere of the Presidential campaigns in the country but appealed to all candidates competing for President in the August 9, polls to accept the results once they have been released.

Toyi made the call while addressing the media following the CEPGEL council of ministers meeting on Friday.

"So far, the campaigns are going on well and CEPGEL is following the whole process closely,” Toyi said.
The CEPGEL head said that elections in Burundi were free and fair but some parties failed to recognise the outcome claiming it was not fair.

"Rwanda’s campaigns are in a cool atmosphere, that gives us hope that elections will be peaceful. We need the whole region to adopt this kind of environment,” Toti added.
On her part, Ambassador Liberata Mulamula, said that she has hope that elections in Rwanda will be free and fair.

"We have finished with the Burundi election, now is Rwanda, then Tanzania,Uganda, DRC and Kenya. What we want is to see peace during campaigns and after the  polls,” Mulamula said.
