Through you the editor I want to thank the school authorities particularly in the Northern Province. They have exhibited a high degree of professionalism, a reason for which I am overwhelmingly grateful.

They have ordered the closure of two secondary schools due to lack of adequate accommodation facilities and poor sanitation.

The schools failed to meet the minimum standards of an education institution. They didn’t have basic facilities  like toilets, bathrooms and enough classrooms.

I suggest that such schools should never re-open once the standards are not met and nothing should compromise government’s stance to close schools that don’t measure to the required standards.
