Rwandan Delegates will be among the four hundred participants invited to take part in this year’s international agribusiness forum to take place in Kampala later this year.
The four-day forum to take place in October this year, will open discussions about the role of Africa in turning the challenge of food security to a business opportunity.
"Of all the delegates, we expect twenty of them including senior government officials to come from Rwanda,” Samuel Semanda, a Commissioner in charge of Agriculture planning in Uganda’s Ministry of Agriculture told reporters at the Uganda Media Centre yesterday..
The forum, which is being organized by the European Marketing Research Centre (EMRC), will gather public and private sector representatives, researchers, bankers and agriculture experts from across the world.
As part of efforts to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in the agro-food sector in Africa, EMRC has provided a $15,000 grand prize to participants who will give satisfying ideas that uplift their communities.
"Dedicated business to business sessions and networking events will enable the delegates to meet and find synergies for business ideas and projects, promoting partnership building,” Semanda added.
Idit Miller, the EMRC Managing Director, said that they would want to see agreements signed during the meeting, adding that this is the second time they are holding a Pan African agribusiness forum on the continent.
