On Wednesday night, FESPAD, the biennial dance festival came down to the National University of Rwanda.  Students were treated to an exhilarating performance by the East African artistes Radio and Weasel.

Performances by different traditional dance troupes from Uganda, Angola, Namibia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Egypt, Madagascar and crowd favourites France were part of the excitement.

Radio and Weasel received a stirring welcome from the packed main auditorium on their third appearance at the University. Radio’s ability to express himself in the local Kinyarwanda language earned him the ‘fans favourite tag’ from the cheering crowd of students.

The ‘Goodlyfe’ Crew members together with their Rwandan member, Tom Close, put up a spirited show despite the poor sound system that threatened to ruin the massively attended show. Students cried for more as the curtains closed a few minutes after midnight.

The 7th Edition of the Pan African Dance Festival aims at promoting a culture of peace and promoting the exchange of African people’s culture on the continent and around the world.

The show was graced by other local artistes including; Diplomat, Family Squad and Sergeant Robert.
