GICUMBI - The Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF), conducted its second rally which attracted a mammoth crowd in Gicumbi district, last Sunday, with a call on voters to stick to the incumbent president, Paul Kagame, to enable him advance the party’s programme for the country.
GICUMBI - The Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF), conducted its second rally which attracted a mammoth crowd in Gicumbi district, last Sunday, with a call on voters to stick to the incumbent president, Paul Kagame, to enable him advance the party’s programme for the country.
Over 9,000 supporters from Shangasha and Mukarange sectors attended the rally in Shangasha Sector.
To show their support to their candidate, party supporters made a huge procession which comprised a long convoy of vehicles which passed through Byumba town.
They chanted party slogans while waving the placards of their candidate, as they proceeded for the rally, attracting huge gatherings of party faithful from neighbouring Mukarange Sector.
The Northern Province party vice chairman, Mathias Rupia, highlighted RPF achievements, including ushering in good governance, security and reviving of the economy.
"RPF has in addition guaranteed gender equality, introduced universal primary education for all Rwandan children and introduced modern agriculture and livestock farming,” Rupia told residents at Bushara playground in Shangasha Sector.
He appealed to residents to vote for Kagame in the August 9 polls.
"President Kagame has earned accolades from many world leaders and international organisations for his wise leadership, which has united Rwandans. His fight against corruption is exemplary not forgetting his tireless efforts geared towards reviving Rwanda’s economy,” added Rupia.
Gicumbi District party chairman Bonane Nyangezi, said
President Kagame has a good vision for Rwandans and called on party faithful to cast their votes for him in large numbers.
