Bugesera FC have confirmed the signing of former APR goalkeeper Eric 'Bakame' Ndayishimiye on a six-month deal.
The 35-year-old put pen to paper Tuesday, January 10, as he looks forward to helping the club ahead of the second round of Rwanda Premier League.
The Rwanda international, who spent the last two months training with Bugesera first team, had been without a club since June last year after parting ways with Police where he played for nearly two seasons.
"He (Bakame) is now our player. We have finalized everything, and we are confident he will play a huge role in the club’s goalkeeping department,” Bugesera FC posted on Twitter on Tuesday.
It is reported that the former Rayon Sports shot-stopper was signed for Rwf8 million.
Regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers the country has ever produced, Ndayishimiye has won many trophies with APR and Rayon Sports. He is an experienced goalkeeper who has played for almost every big club in Rwanda, in addition to the national team.
Ndayishimiye rose to fame in the 2008-2009 season when he helped the now defunct ATRACO FC win the league title, Peace Cup and Cecafa Kagame Cup in Sudan.
Since early 2005, he featured for national teams at all levels, starting with the U-17 side in 2005, the U-20s from 2007 to early 2009, and Amavubi seniors from 2008 to 2021.
