GICUMBI - Over 30,000 residents of Cyumba, Manyagiro and Rubaya sectors, Gicumbi district, on Wednesday, turned up at Cyumba Primary School playground, for the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) rally.

Senator, Jean Baptist Bizimana, urged residents to vote the party presidential candidate, Paul Kagame. He also asked party faithful to uphold the party principles.

Bizimana, said the abrupt rainfall which almost interrupted the rally, meant well for incumbent, President Kagame’s bid.
"For our country to prosper economically, we have no any other choice but to vote for President Kagame,” added Bizimana.

Gicumbi District party chairman, Bonane Nyangezi, who is also the District Mayor, described President Kagame as a good shepherded.

"President Kagame is a good shepherded who liberated Rwandans from past dictatorial regimes and has led the country to positive socio-economic transformation, within a short period,” he said.

One of the party supporters, Andrew Ndayambaje, of Manyagiro Sector, hailed President Kagame for eradicating poverty and malnutrition in families.

"President Kagame initiated the programme of one cow per family to eradicate malnutrition in families, in addition to availing shelter to the poor and improving agriculture production countrywide,” said Ndayambaje.

During the rally, party sector chairpersons were each given a glowing peace flame and the party’s political manifesto, to be passed onto to supporters at Cell, village and household level.
