This is in reference to the good news reported, yesterday, in an article in the The New Times, entitled " Singapore  Airlines targets Rwanda ". While signing the Agreement per se may not sound so exciting, as indicated by the Hon. Vincent Karega, Minister of Infrastructure, the key words in the article are " when market opportunities arise ".

Singapore Airlines  is undoubtedly one of the best airlines not only in Asia but even in world rankings . The fact that the airline has signed the Agreement indicates their desire and willingness to explore and tap into the EAC Common Market.

It is now for Rwandans and friends of Rwanda to work hard together along with the larger East African Community and ensure that the market opportunities do arise in the near future. This way, Kigali may well become a " HUB " not only for Singapore Airlines but also for other airlines who want to tap into the EAC Common Market.

The Rwandan Government ,on their part,are already working on the new airport which will have the necessary facilities and infrastructure to accommodate increased demands of new airlines expressing their interest to have flights into Rwanda.

And , of course, Rwanda Development Board are also constantly innovating and improving their services, making it  easy and enjoyable to do business with the country.

Turkish Airlines have recently commenced operations into Entebbe.This obviously indicates that there is potential in the East African region for more airlines and more flights to operate. Why not Singapore Airlines into Kigali ?

The sooner all concerned agencies in Rwanda work together and create the  demand for  flights from South East Asia, the sooner will Singapore Airlines  express their interest to commence operations into the region.
