GICUMBI - 10 students of Byumba Academy de La Salle are undertaking three-week training in various ICT packages, at Gicumbi telecenter.

The training, which started last Friday, covering Photoshop graphic design and basic HTML website courses, is being conducted by Korean volunteers from South Korean Dankook University, working under Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The school’s headmaster, Maurice Burasa, said the students who include five girls and five boys, were selected from Ordinary Level.

"This course will enable students to work in photo studios during school holidays, to enable them to acquire some money needed to purchase text books and other essentials at school,” said Burasa.

The Gicumbi telecenter training officer, Jean Aime Senturo, said the volunteers conduct the training every Thursday and Friday. He also revealed that the course is being coordinated by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).
