MUHANGA - Members of the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) in Gitarama cell, Muhanga district, have promised to uphold high standards of discipline during the forthcoming presidential elections.
They made the remarks on July 18; during cell party meet attended by members from Kavumu, Nyabisindu, Nyarutovu, Gatika, Nyarusiza, and Kagitarama villages.
Antoine Kayitare, the cell party chairman, said that the activities and achievements of the party are evident and residents have resolved to take charge of their development plans.
He outlined health insurance, increased access to health services, increased school enrolment and classrooms in the area among their achievements.
"We are proud of the party’s achievements,” Kayitare said.
Kayitare attributed the party’s success to good governance and commitment of residents and leaders towards development.
Various RPF officials at the meeting encouraged members to promote party ideals and mobilise the community to participate in the presidential elections.
The officials also called on residents to turn out in big numbers, keep time and vote peacefully in the election.
The meeting was also attended by National Electoral Commission (NEC) officials, who cautioned residents against indiscipline and derogatory comments, during the campaign period.
The officials advised residents to crosscheck and confirm whether they fulfill the requirements to vote.
The meeting ended with singing and dancing.
