BMK, a Ugandan-based construction firm that deals in heavy machinery, has resumed its business in Rwanda.

Haruna Kibirige, the company’s Managing Director, said they had ceased business but have decided to resume after Rwanda’s admission into the East African Community.
BMK resumes operations in Rwanda at a time when there is a boom in the construction sector, which therefore places the country in a position to need more construction machines.

"Many people from Rwanda kept approaching us to hire the machines but the transport costs were quite high. So we thought by bringing the machines near to them we would make business simpler for Rwandans,” he explained.
"We have been doing business with some contractors in Rwanda and have recommended most of them to get construction tenders. Our role is usually to supply them machines. Five machines are already working in Umutara Province,” Kibirige said.

BMK Machinery deals in heavy construction machines like bulldozers, cranes, excavators, wheel loaders and chain loaders.
