I’m amazed by the work that the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) does in providing for the betterment of Rwandan lives.

The Army Week, which has lasted a lot longer than a mere week, is one of the most inspired initiatives that I have knowledge of. The armed forces in many countries on this continent inspire not awe, but rather fear in their populaces. But this isn’t true in this country. The people know that the RDF is their army. 

For example, as part of the ongoing Army Week, members of the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) recently inaugurated a water supply system at Masoro sector, Rulindo District in the Northern Province.The projrect will supply clean water to over 40,000 residents of Masoro, Ntabana and Murambi in Rulindo District as well as Jabana Sector in Gasabo District.

When one looks at all the things that their army has done both within this years’ Army Week and in ‘normal’ weeks, one cannot fail to realize the patriotic zeal that this army has. This is an army that I’m, as a Rwandan, proud to be identified with.
