Traders report business boom as exposition closes

KARONGI — There was high turn-up of buyers at the mini- exposition organised by the Private Sector Federation in Karongi district, which ended at the weekend, according to a mini-survey done by The New Times.

KARONGI — There was high turn-up of buyers at the mini- exposition organised by the Private Sector Federation in Karongi district, which ended at the weekend, according to a mini-survey done by The New Times.

Speaking in separate interviews, most residents especially the traders said the sales were higher than what they expected.

"This has been an opportunity to expand our businesses since there was a big ustomer base. This chance does not come so often,” Nowela Nyampinga, a trader with Nyirangarama juice factory said.

She pointed out the reduced prices of the products as one of the major factors that attracted a large number of customers during the two weeks trade show.

Alexandre Musabyimana, one the residents could not hide his excitement. He said, "It’s not common to have such goods on display most especially in the villages. This development is a very welcome move”.
