Amagaju vs Muhanga

AMAGAJU will face Muhanga this afternoon in the final of this year’s Genocide Memorial tournament in Nyamagabe, Southern Province.

Amagaju beat the National University of Rwanda (NUR) 2-1 at the university grounds while tournament organizers and title holders Mukura were shocked 4-3 on penalty shootouts by Muhanga.

The normal 90 minutes ended 1-1.
The defeat was a hard to rude welcome for Mukura’s new coach Jean Paul Munyankindi, who was only appointed five days ago.

According to the organizers, the final this afternoon will be preceded by a tribute visit to Murambi Memorial Centre.
Mukura has been holding this tournament for the last 15 years but under poor conditions attributed to financial constraints.

This year, they were let down by the local football federation who failed to cooperate in hosting the tournament.
