While I am of the view that the entire fossil-fuel economy is unsustainable, I still believe that the state should protect the populace from fuel shocks. Having prices move up and down constantly isn’t good for the economy.

That is why I’m pleased that a storage facility is being built. The fact of the matter is that prices will continue to rise simply because of dwindling oil supplies.

Therefore, I ask all stakeholders in both the fields of energy and environmental conservation to find a way for Rwanda to become energy-independent.
