Rwanda Premier League giants APR are set to bring their former assistant coach Jamel Eddine Neffati back to his role, Times Sport has established.
The Tunisian, who had his first spell at APR FC between July 2021 and July 2022, will be serving the deputy role on the military side’s touchline, assisting interim coach Ben Moussa who will soon be unveiled as the club’s new head coach.
Moussa has been in charge of the club on an interim basis since Moroccan Adil Mohammed left the club in October 2022 and refused to return from his one-month suspension to continue his job as head coach as he protested.
APR have been impressive under Moussa and Times Sport the club’s hierarchy may be convinced to make his interim role permanent as their new head coach.
Ben Moussa is said to have requested the club to bring Eddine Neffati back to his role. The Tunisian, who holds a 'Licence B' of CAF, will arrive in Kigali on January 7 two days before APR FC starts training.
Neffati previously coached Avenir Sportif de la Marsa of Tunisia between 2013 and 2015, Association Sportive de Ariana of Tunisia (2015-2016), Olympique de Beja of Tunisia 2016 -2017, Club Africain in Tunisia 2018-2019, Al Nahda FC in Saudi Arabia (2019-2021) and Etoile Sportif of Tunisia between 2017and 2018.
