Goethe-Institute is hosting a week long intercultural dance exchange dubbed ‘Logobi 02’ starting July 9 to 15.

The German contemporary dance event is directed by German theatre director Monika Gintersdorfer and visual artist Knut Klaßen, who focus on investigating different cultural perspectives.

‘Logobi 02’ creates a joyfully provocative encounter between Ivorian dancer-choreographer Gotta Depri and German dancer-choreographer Gudrun Lange.

As each attempt to bring the other closer to their art, an entertaining dialogue -both dances and spoken- arise, exploring and challenging popular interpretations of movement.

Depri’s traditional African style and Lange’s contemporary European style are two very different dance worlds placed side by side on stage. In their ‘Logobi’ series, they bring together Ivorian and European artists.

Goethe-Institute is situated in Kacyiru, near located near Ishyo Arts Centre.
