GATSIBO - Students of APECOM Gakenke in Kiramuluzi sector, Gatsibo district, have formed the ‘Never again’ Club aimed at fighting genocide ideology that has been rampant in the school.

Previously, a parliamentary standing committee on genocide ideology cited the school among those where genocide ideology was prevalent.

Speaking in an interview, Jean Marie Vianney Twagirumukiza, the club’s head said that remarkable results have been realised ever since they formed the club.

"In recent years, the school was named among the top with this vice but, after we formed this club it has slightly reduced,” he said.

Twagirumukiza added that the club promotes reconciliation as well as uniting students.

Janvier Ntwali, the students’ club vice president, said that before its inception last year, there were insults and threats against student genocide survivors.

Jean Leonard Sekanyange, the school’s head teacher, hailed students’ club for fighting against genocide ideology and promised the management’s support.
