KARONGI - Police in Bwishyura sector, Karongi district are holding a 16-year-old boy in connection with the theft of property belonging to The New Times’ Karongi Bureau Chief. The boy was arrested, Sunday, and immediately confessed to a breaking-in and taking off with several items.

KARONGI - Police in Bwishyura sector, Karongi district are holding a 16-year-old boy in connection with the theft of property belonging to The New Times’ Karongi Bureau Chief.
The boy was arrested, Sunday, and immediately confessed to a breaking-in and taking off with several items.
"I jumped over the perimeter wall and forced my way into the house where I picked the items. I needed money for survival,” he said.
Some of the recovered items include a digital camera, DVD player, computer connection cables and an assortment of other household items.
A police source said that the boy was last month suspended from St. Joseph Secondary School, Birambo sector, for stealing a mattress.
